Dino Zoff: Spain’s national team is not as strong as ever

The legendary Italian goalkeeper Dino Zoff underestimated the power of the Spanish national team. He considered the Matador Team is not as strong as the golden era in 2008-2012.

For six years (2008-2012), the Spanish national team mastered the world football. Fernando Torres and his friends won the 2008 European Cup, 2012 and World Cup 2010. However, after that Spain experienced a decrease in achievement. Matador team slumped in the 2014 World Cup and 2016 European Cup.

Now, the Spanish national team tried to rise again. Sergio Ramos and his friends will host Italy in the continuation of the 2018 World Cup qualifying match at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday (02/09/2017).

“Spain – they have very good players, as always, but not the same as their golden age They no longer have the unbeatable impression they had before,” Zoff told Diario AS.

“The result of Saturday I can say I’m very optimistic Santiago Bernabeu This is a stadium that gives us luck, and hopefully it’s confirmed on Saturday.”

“Obviously, the World Cup final can not be compared with this match, but there is still much at stake in the game later,” Zoff added.

Spain and Italy are both collecting 16 points in Group G. The Matador team is perched on the throne on goal difference.
